History of Conway Packing Services Ltd
We are a successful Company in the services of both contract packaging and commercial export packing. Our works of approx. 100,000 sq ft situated on a five and a half acre site are centrally situated and in close proximity to the motorway network providing good access to and from all parts of the country. The success of the Company has been achieved through the approach taken to its customer's requirement in both need and expectation and from this information structuring procedures and practices which ensure full customer satisfaction. This includes the development of computer software and customer I.T. links and the accommodation of the customer's computer equipment on our site to maintain required system updates. The Company holds BS EN ISO9001 quality accreditation and is approved by the M.O.D. for package design to DR14 accreditation.
Conway Packing Services was formed in September of 1991 to effect a management buy out of the business formerly operated as Westmid Packing Services Ltd., from its Group holding Company. Buy out negotiations were completed at the end of 1991 and we have been trading successfully and growing ever since. Since the Directors, Management and Staff were all former employees of Westmid from its inception, we consider our experience and credibility in the industry to be established from the creation of Westmid Packing in 1977, some 20 years. The business has held contracts with Girling, now Lucas Varity, for the storage and order pick and pack facility to supply all of their overseas markets throughout this 20 year period. In addition, the Company has held various MOD contracts over the past 12 years, most notably the contract for package design and packaging of MT Spares over a five year period. Further contracts have been held for the storage and packing of automobile spares including kit assemblies for Unipart DCM and the storage of axle components for kit assembly and packaging on behalf of Dana Spicer Europe Ltd, and auto electrical spares and kits for Lucas Aftermarket Operations.
Conway Packing currently employs approximately 100 personnel occupied through its business and all together we generate turnover in excess of £3 Million.
Our highly skilled IT Manager has over 15 years experience in the computer industry and is proficient with a wide range of technology's. We can also provide a secure link to your computer systems and / or provide all the data, reports and statistics that you would require. Management, office staff and shop floor personnel are all proficient in the use of computer technology with an on-going in-house training scheme in place.
