About UsConway Packing Services Ltd was formed in 1991 by a team of managers already employed in the industry who collectively had in excess of 200 years hands-on experience.
The company is based within its own premises of some 18 acres within one mile of junction 2 of the M5 motorway. The premises have been modified to provide a bespoke packing station and operates as a seamless extension to its client's manufacturing operation. The works cover an area in excess of 200,000 sq ft and provide a single lift capacity of 80 tonnes. Temperature and humidity controlled environments are available, together with static-free and secure storage and packing areas. The company provides a comprehensive contract and export packing service, including freight forwarding services to the global marketplace.
It is our firm belief that preparation is the key to any packaging and freighting project and the earliest involvement of the packer/freight forwarder is substantially contributory to the overall success of the given project. For example, we have been instrumental in providing bar-coded labels for each component part of a major project to our clients, who has then required his supplier as a condition of his purchase contract, to attach the label with each item of supply. Parts were easily identified upon receipt at our works by scanning the label, and our client was aware of their arrival immediately from a bespoke database maintained at our works. This is a simple but highly effective control.
We are committed to exploring new packaging materials, technical advancements and innovative procedures to provide the most cost effective service to our customers. As a result of such exercises, we have our own in-house fabrication shop, which manufacturers steel reinforcing and lifting equipment to handle weights from 2 tonnes to 200 tonnes in single lifts. We are able to manufacture bespoke cartons from computer controlled carton manufacturing machinery and provide a fast track service in the event of urgent need.
The company is successful and currently holds several enabling arrangements with the M.O.D and a number of its contracted suppliers. We have held the enabling arrangement for the packaging of military vehicle spares and special equipment for the last eight years, and have introduced ISO 2859 inspection procedures to the management of this contract.
We have enjoyed a great deal of success in the commercial export packaging market, listing many blue –chip companies among our customers. Based upon sound business principles, growing business is gained on two levels – firstly price and then service. We aim, therefore, to provide the best service at the most competitive price.
